the problem is with sleep is that you have to start over a bunch of times throughout the night. But you level up faster each time you go through it.

hmmm games that keep me entertained? I can't remember a game that keep my interests for so long; heck not even FPS games. I do admit that Half Life series (1 and 2 and all those mods for it) is fun but i can only stand playing it for 1 hours or 2 before i stopped.
But if i have to choose one game that keep my interests for a long time, it would be...the Grand Theft Auto series (3 is still my favor)

I played the Baldur's Gate series for about 3 years. I dont think I ever got "bored of it." But those games were just amazing, Bioware is hands down the best computer-game-making company out there.... I am just waiting for Dragon Age/Neverwinter Nights 2
I remeber, the game I had played before Guildwars was NWN. It was so confusing to switch. I liked the change, but I am looking forward to change again (back to Bioware, when their new games come out)
And after that, well, back to the NC soft (mabye)
Dont get me wrong, I love Guildwars so much, its just that after a year or two of playing one game, I like to switch. Not that I've had that much experience.... I'm only 21 after all.....

Actually there are a few games that have had my interest for a very very long time. I've been playing Rivercity Ransom, and Super Dodgeball for about 15 years and I still laugh my head of when I pick up a foe and use him to repeatedly bash someone else or when I knock an opponent around the world with a super throw.
Good times man... good times...

Yeah...Neverwinter Nights was my very first online game was deeply addictive to it.(3 years) Played it till GW came out, Do agree with you Venus, Bio Ware wins hands down for me. Waiting as well for NWN 2 and Dragon Age, Guild Wars is a great place, but doesn't beat making your own mods, posting your mod to the internet, Learning to Script your own Scripts for your own mod or other ppl. And yeah the ppl in the game are great have many friends from there. Guild Wars is great, beta tested this game for like 5 months couldn't wait to buy it. Felt that funny feeling again ohhh yeah such an addiction but when they changed the format to you had to have a 2nd profession before you went to pre-seering that was a big disapointment due to I played a nec straight up in the beta and fell madly in love with it. So then I did a elementist then the nov 10 patch killed her, I know ever changing world in GW, But to many changes from the orginal.... Makes not knowing what will happen next ....

Most people do go in and out of games and how they play them.
I know somedays I'll get home and think about what I want to do and say "well..I did just play that one yesterday", or something like that.

I replayed FF7 a bunch of times but I never realy liked FFX.. I thought it sucked compared to 7 8 9 and the old ones.
I don't know if table football counts as a game but I play it 8 hours a day.

Yeah, I played D2 LOD for almost 4 years straight. Daily, and dozens of hours per week. It was almost all single player too (as I couldn't stand the immaturity of players or the vast extent of hacking online). All in all, I must have gone throught the storyline like 50-60 times. The only reason I stopped is b/c I got this terrific game
I think the OP is right that if you play a game for the storyline, it gets boring after the first or second time you play it. However, if you play games like these for the items, the drops, or most importantly, the intellectual challenge, they never get old. I just love trying to come up with unique builds, and then challenge the idea by seeing if they can accomplish certain goals (beat the game, solo, etc.). It's all how you look at it.

FF 8 and 10 were the downfall of the series to me. I still love and play the following:
FF 6
Shining Force
Shining Force II
Morrowind (can't wait for Oblivion)
the Age of Empires series incl. Mythology
Warcraft II
